Dario Primo

Board Member

Dario’s roots are in Traverse City where he grew up playing sports, picking cherries, and valuing the outdoors. He studied Resource Ecology Management at the University of Michigan. After graduating, Dario worked for the National Park Service (Sleeping Bear Dunes Lakeshore) and the National Wildlife Federation.

Shortly thereafter, he graduated with an M.B.A. from Michigan State University, and spent time living in Arizona and Petoskey. He returned to Traverse City with his family in 2015, looking to serve the community.

Over the years, Traverse City has grown and changed. While still firmly planted in its roots, Northern Michigan is continually challenged to embrace the future while respecting its heritage. Dario enjoys helping guide the Conservation District responsibly in this endeavor.

You will find Dario outside in all seasons. He enjoys open-water swimming, cross-country skiing (and snowshoeing), mountain biking, kayak fishing, and hiking. He also relishes the occasional ice cream sandwich.
