More about Cameron:

Cameron is a Northern Michigan native who grew up in Elk Rapids, Michigan and has been enjoying living in an area surrounded by the Great Lakes and Chain of Lakes system. When he was younger, he visited the family cottage in Grand Marais, Michigan and enjoyed climbing the sand dunes and collecting all of the Agates he found along Lake Superior. As Cameron grew older, he found his place in nature as being outside was the greatest escape he could ask for. After many years of playing soccer for Elk Rapids, he pursued hunting and fishing as his recreational hobby. Ever since, he has tried to find as much time as he can to be in the woods in search of that next thrill.

Previously graduating from Northwestern Michigan College with his Associates in Applied Sciences, he decided to take a break from his studies and figure out which field he enjoyed being in. In 2017, he Graduated from Lake Superior State University with a Bachelor of Fisheries and Wildlife Management with a concentration in Wildlife Management. While obtaining this degree, Cameron worked for Northwest Michigan Invasive Species Network and gained knowledge of the ecology and plant life within the surrounding areas. The following year, Cameron moved on from the invasive species world into the parkland technician world as he enjoyed working on the trails, building projects, and working on the Boardman River.

If you don’t see Cameron out on one of our managed parklands, you will certainly catch him out on the surrounding area trails, lakes, golf courses, two tracks in his CJ-5, bow-stand/rifle blind, and on the slopes snowboarding!
